For a second consecutive year Via Verde took part in the Balkans International Wine Competition – BIWC 2017

On the 3rd and 4th of June, colourful dragonflies flew from the Valley of Struma River to gather together in Sofia for the Sixth Balkan International Wine Festival – BIWC 2017. The wine event was held in the pleasant atmosphere of the summer terrace of Grand Hotel Sofia, and connoisseurs of quality wine had the opportunity to taste exclusively the latest boutique temptation of Via Verde family – the fine-grained Sandanski Misket from Expressions series.

The Balkans International Wine Festival is the only event in Bulgaria, where wine-lovers and professionals in the wine industry meet up to enjoy wines from all Balkan countries. This is why the focus of the presentation of Via Verde this year was the new Sandanski Misket – an emblematic local grape variety that grows only in the region of Sandanski.

BIWC’s sixth edition is the second consecutive entry for Via Verde. In the last year’s edition several wines of Via Verde’s portfolio attracted the attention of the jury and won three awards:

• Expressions Misket/Muscat 2015 – Bronze medal, Balkans International Wine Competition 2016
• Expressions Syrah/Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 – Bronze medal, Balkans International Wine Competition 2016
• Expressions Rose 2015 – Silver medal, Balkans International Wine Competition 2016

BIWC 2017 offers a real Balkan fiesta with over 500 wines for tasting during the festival, a Balkan gourmet and an interesting entertaining program during the exhibition.
